History

China Lake Alliance is the successor organization to IWV 2000 and the China Lake Defense Alliance, which provided community support to China Lake during BRAC 95 and BRAC 05. The CLA is a non-profit community-based organization dedicated to supporting the mission of the Naval Air Warfare Center China Lake. It is formally a committee of the Indian Wells Valley Economic Development Corporation, a 501(c)4 tax-exempt organization.

CLA’s efforts have supported the base's growth while the community has benefited from an increase in off-base businesses and services. By articulating China Lake's value to local, state, and national decision makers and supporting the technology, energy, and aerospace development in the Indian Wells Valley, the Alliance is helping to ensure the survival and expansion of China Lake's mission.
